Before Artist Authority and the drop system, there was the work.
Flava began as painting, murals and cultural storytelling.
Music. Basketball. Hip hop. Heritage.
These works form the foundation of the studio language that later moved into fashion and artifacts.
The archive documents that journey.
BUDDHA
Guautama Buddha, or simply known as Buddha. The word Buddha means the ‘Awakened One’ or ‘Enlightened One’. Guautama was once a prince, but had a deep need to find the true meaning of life. Buddha’s teachings talks to me about focus, thought and purpose.
This piece has transferred to Flavas fashion gear and is now called
‘Genie in the mind’

Legend is Bob Marley, One of Bob‘s famous motto’s “Love the Life Live the Life”
Bob to me was so raw and real.

Michael Jordan is the goat.
In this piece, his Airiness is depicted at rim camera view with the notorious tongue wagging expression, exploding for a powerful dunk.
To me, MJ represents achieving greatness.
It makes it more powerful when your least expected for greatness.

THE KANGA LOGO
This is my original sketch to what
l call The Flava Boxing Kanga.
The Kangaroo represents my birth origin
Australia. In Australia there is a fighting
spirit we have, everyday l fight for my
dreams and purpose.
The colours of the Kanga represents my
Mauritian culture. As a proud Creole we
love colour. l believe colour is life,
energy and soul.
FABRICS AND MORE…
Experimenting with fabrics such as viscose,
wool, cotton and silk is a different high.
At Flava all of our designs are made in
our studio. We look forward to continuing
to grow this craft and promise to bring
you more colourful Flava!
