A study of independent thought.
A floating alien figure emerges from a haze of aerosol, its oversized head filled with a tangled DOPE brain. The word INDEPENDENT circles the figure, turning the garment into a statement about thinking differently, existing outside convention and protecting the ideas inside your own head.
The artwork moves across the garment rather than sitting inside a conventional printed rectangle. Aerosol creates the atmospheric body and glow, while acrylic paint forms the alien, typography and hand-rendered details.
Every mark is applied directly to the garment by Melbourne artist Chris Marie, making this an individual piece of wearable art rather than a reproduced graphic.
