One day you’re here, the next day you’re gone.
2PAC FOREVA explores the cultural memory of Tupac Shakur through the visual language of Artist Authority.
A hand-painted profile occupies one side of the shorts while fragmented THUG LIFE lettering moves across the opposite leg. White aerosol, fingerprints, paint residue and repeated studio marks spread through the black ground, breaking the composition away from the conventional boundaries of a printed graphic.
The work is deliberately raw. Differences in paint density, edges, overspray and surface marks remain visible as evidence of the process.
Painted individually by Chris Marie at ARTFLAVA Studio in Collingwood, Melbourne.
