BASQUIAT FOREVA
Same language. New canvas.
BASQUIAT FOREVA continues a recurring study within the Artist Authority practice, previously explored across tees and bomber jackets and now carried onto a new form for Spring/Summer.
The composition is built directly onto the garment through hand-applied paint, fragmented lettering, repeated marks, fingerprints and raw splashes of red, white and black.
Rather than reproducing the earlier works, each version is allowed to change with its surface. Seams, pockets, zips, mesh and the movement of the fabric become part of the composition.
The marks aren’t cleaned up or digitally reproduced. Differences in paint density, positioning, edges, fingerprints and overspray remain visible as evidence of the studio process.
Each pair is painted individually by Chris Marie at ARTFLAVA Studio in Collingwood, Melbourne.
